Nehru Institute of Mountaineering has the following categories in membership.
Ordinary Members: Those who pay an annual subscription of Rs 100 /- (Rupees one hundred), prescribed by the Executive Council and admitted as such, prefereably from those who are qualified mountaineers or persons interested in mountaineering and / or other adventure activities who are likely to contribute to the furtherance of the objectives of the institute or persons of eminence whise inclusion as members is likely to promote the cause of the institute.
Life Members : Those who pay a lump sum contribution prescribed by the Executive Council and admitted as such Rs 1000 /- (Rupees one thousand only) in one or more installments, preferably from those Ordinary Members who have remained active as members for three years. Donors who pay Rs 10,000 /- and more may nominate another person as Life Member.
Honorary Members: Those who being persons of distinction, may be admitted to this category of membership by the Executive Council.
No one who is below the age of 21 years shall be eligible to become a member , ordinary or life, of the institute.
No one shall be admitted as a member of the institute by the Executive Council, unless his/her name is proposed and seconded by members of the Institute and duly recommended for admission by the Principal of the Institute. However, for admission of a life member, additional recommendation of the Secretary OR the Vice President OR the President shall be essential.
Membership Fees can be paid in the form of Demand Draft in favor of Principal, Nehru Institute of Mountaineering payable at Uttarkashi.
