Organization

The Nehru Institute of Mountaineering is registered under the Society Act of 1860. President of the institute is Hon'ble Raksha Mantri, Govt of India and the Vice President is Hon'ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.  The Institute is headed by a Principal who is hand-picked officer by the Ministry of Defence. It has a Training, Medical, Administrative and Equipment wings. The Training Wing comprises of the Vice Principal, Instructional Staff and Clerical staff of training section. Medical Wing comprises of Medical Officer and Nursing Assistant.  The Administrative Wing which deals with accounts, rations, estate and MT section is looked after by the Registrar. The Equipment wing is looked after by the Equipment Officer.
