Vice - Principal

Lieutenant Colonel Yogesh Dhumal took charge as the Vice Principal of NIM on 25 February 2019. As the Training Officer at the Institute, he immediately took up the task of supervising and developing the training during the courses in earnest.

 

He is an alumnus of the Indian Military Academy and was commissioned in 14 MARATHA LIGHT INFANTRY Battalion in 2002. He was sidestepped to the newly raised battalion of 25 MARATHA LIGHT INFANTRY in 2016. He is a keen sportsman and an enthusiastic mountaineer. He has served in the highest battlefield of the world, Siachen Glacier Sector for two years. He also has the distinction of serving as the Officer-Commanding of the Army Mountaineering Institute located at the Siachen Base Camp.

 

He has led expeditions to an unexplored peak in the Karakoram Ranges (6240 M) in 2014, Mt Kun (7035 M) in 2018 and participated in other expeditions. He also climbed Mt Kilimanjaro and the technically challenging Mt Kenya in Africa in 2017.
